What to expect at RPI 2022 + ten-year anniversary gallery

We are so excited about the tenth anniversary of Rebecca's Private Idaho! This post contains a lot of details for riders who are participating in the event (you can always see the current schedule on the RPI website), and below that is a celebratory photo gallery of the last ten years of RPI. If you’ve been to RPI before, you may just see yourself featured!

If you'll be at RPI this year, get ready to ride hard, laugh often, and bond with so many amazing people from all over the world. There truly is nothing like Rebecca's Private Idaho, and it's because of all of the incredible humans who choose to ride with us every year. So thank you, and let’s get ready to ride #gravelforgood!

What to Expect

Wednesday, August 31 - Welcome Queen's Stage Race riders!

There is a mandatory QSR athlete meeting at the Limelight Hotel at 7:00 p.m. Riders can pick up race packets any time between 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m., before or after the meeting.

Thursday, September 1 - QSR Stage 1, Harriman Trail

You MUST ride the provided shuttle for Stage 1 of QSR! Shuttle loading will begin at 7:00 a.m. on the back deck (Washington Avenue) side of the Limelight Hotel. The race will begin at 8:30 a.m. sharp at Galena Lodge. Following the race, lunch will be served at Galena Lodge starting at 11:30 a.m., and the shuttle heads back to town around 1:30 p.m.

Stage 1 is 43.3 miles long, 3,711 feet in elevation gain, 40% singletrack, 20% gravel road, and 40% non-motorized path.

Friday, September 2 - Stage 2, Dollarhide Summit Time Trail & Be Good Foundation Party

This stage kicks off with a 20-mile neutral rollout from the Limelight Hotel at 8:30 a.m. with a staggered-start, 4.5-mile individual time trial, so get ready! This ride ends up being 49.65 miles long and 3,003 feet in elevation gain on 100% gravel road.

From 6:00-9:00 p.m., we'll be partying Be Good style. Join us to enjoy drinks, prize drawings, live music, and the opportunity to mingle with Rebecca Rusch and other professional athletes—all in the name of fundraising! 100% of proceeds from this party go directly to the Be Good™ Foundation. Saturday, September 3 - #JoinTheRusch Shakeout Ride, Welcome Party, and Expo

Saturday is your optional rest day or an opportunity to shake it out with Rebecca's #JoinTheRusch shakeout ride, which is open to everyone! The ride starts at 7:30 a.m. from Atkinson Park and follows the 20-mile Tater Tot course with plenty of Chamois Butt'r to go around. Half gravel, half pavement, this is the perfect recovery ride and a great time to socialize with other riders!

Following the shakeout ride, our welcome party and expo will take place at Atkinson Park from 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Riders and the general public can shop from participating vendors, learn more about products, and meet the pros riding Sunday's race. Rider meetings will be at 12:00 noon and 4:00 p.m.; you only need to attend one of the meetings.

Sunday, September 4 - QSR Stage 3 (Baked Potato), French Fry, Tater Tot

We'll be at Festival Meadows all day Sunday, and we're open to the public ALL DAY from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.! Bag drop will open at 6:45 a.m., and the rider’s briefing will begin at 7:40 a.m. QSR Stage 3/Baked Potato riders will roll out at 8:00 a.m., followed by French Fry riders at 8:15 a.m. and Tater Tot riders at 8:30 a.m.

Like all good races, there will be awards handed out for all of the distances and categories, starting at 4 p.m. If you think you're out of medal contention, remember there is the Twice Baked award for the rider who's out on the course the longest but finishes within cutoff time!
